Biography

Kaifu received Ph.D. training in Genomics at the Beijing Institute of Genomics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He performed postdoctoral research at the Baylor College of medicine. He then joined the Weill Cornell Medical College and Houston Methodist Hospital as an Assistant Professor, and later became the Director of their Center for Bioinformatics and Computational Biology in the Hospital. He finally moved to Harvard Medical School at Boston Children’s Hospital as an endowed Associate Professor and is now directing their Computational Biology Program. Kaifu’s major research interest is in computational modeling of how cell identity is established, maintained, and dysregulated in diseases, with a focus on prostate cancer and cardiovascular diseases.
