Biography

Annapina Russo is an Associate Professor of Biochemistry, Dept. of Pharmacy, University of Naples "Federico II" with a strong background in the field of regulation of human ribosomal protein expression. She received her Degree in Chemical and Pharmaceutical Technologies and her Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Medical Biotechnologies from the University of Naples "Federico II." In recent years, her research activities have mainly focused on the study of extra-ribosomal functions of ribosomal proteins, with particular attention to their role in tumorigenesis, chemotherapy, and chemoresistance. These studies led to discovering of new p53-independent pathways in lung and colon cancers.
