Globally, breast cancer is the most diagnosed cancer. 5-year survival rate of breast cancer can easily reach 90% if breast cancer is diagnosed early enough. Recurrence in cancer may happen any time after treatment, when undetectable cancer cells proliferate to a point where they can be detected. Almost 30% of patients with breast cancer who are free of disease after initial local and regional treatments present with disease recurrence during follow-up. Risk prediction for tumor recurrence is important for making effective treatment decisions and for the survival outcomes of patients.
