Dr. Mehreen Aftab is a translational cancer biologist and Assistant Professor (Department of Molecular Medicine, SIST), Jamia Hamdard, New Delhi.India (since 12 Sept 2025).
She previously served as an ICMR–Research Associate at National Institute of Cancer prevention and Research,India focusing on (i) the functional role of autophagy in regulating extracellular vesicle (EV)-derived circRNAs in breast cancer metastasis and (ii) a multicentric ICMR task-force study on genetic/clinical/epidemiological factors in breast cancer.
She earned her PhD (Amity University, 2022) and earlier completed an MSc (Genetics) from AMU. Her PhD delivered a urinary miRNA panel for non-invasive cervical cancer detection, and her current work continues to translate RNA biology into deployable diagnostics and therapeutics.
