Icíar González is a researcher of the National Research Council of Spain CSIC and is vicedirector for scientific affairs at the Institute of Physical Technologies and Information ITEFI. She joined the staff of CSIC in 2003. Since then, she has opened pioneer transdisciplinary research lines to address cancer, developing some technological approaches for detection of rare cells in liquid biopsy, rapid formation of tumor spheroids in less than 10 minutes and paralization of cancer cell migration by strategic application of very low intensity ultrasounds. Expert evaluator of the EC, she has led more than 6 international and national research projects.
